Despite a relatively small following, Villarreal have established themselves as one of the better teams in Spain and regularly compete for a place in the UEFA Champions League. Formed in 1923, they are based in the Valencia region and play their home matches at El Madrigal stadium.
In the mid 2000’s, Villarreal
enjoyed their most successful period in their history. In 2005-06, they reached
the Champions League semi-final before being knocked out by Arsenal. During
this time, their side featured Argentine playmaker Juan Roman Riquelme, who is
arguably the clubs most famous player, and Uruguayan forward Diego Forlan. The
Villarreal jersey with ROMAN 10 shirt printing was one of our most sought after
football strips in this era.
Known as the Yellow Submarine, Villarreal are famous for their distinctive home jersey. The origins of the kit date back to 1947. Having previously played in white shirts and black shorts, the club’s president was unsuccessful on a trip to Valencia to pick up a replacement kit. At the time, the only alternative available was yellow and, after consultation with the players, it was decided that the shorts would be dyed blue. This colour combination lasted until 2002-2003, after which time the club have worn an all yellow strip of shirts, shorts, socks.
Villarreal kits are an excellent addition to any football shirt collection as they are one of a very small group of teams who play in a yellow home shirt. The full strip is available to buy in our online store in adults and children’s sizes and all jerseys can be customised with official shirt printing.
The club have had a number of different colour combinations for away shirts in recent times. Navy or dark blue and also black have been the most popular versions of the away shirt.
Despite the popularity of the team, Villarreal jerseys have been notoriously difficult for us to source and have not always been available to buy online.
After the club ended their
partnership with Puma, they had a disastrous arrangement with Chinese
manufacturer Xtep. This arrangement co-incided with financial difficulties the
club were having which saw them relegated to the Segunda Division in 2012.
However, they subsequently bounced back and are once again competing at the right end of La Liga. Since signing a kit partnership with Joma, there has been a much wider selection of Villarreal replica kits and training wear available for sale on our website.
You can buy the latest Villareal soccer jerseys and keep an eye out for great deals on past season kits.
